Red handed
Nothing like getting caught at Mcdonald's by fellow crossfiters (who shall remain nameless) right? But hey- it was unsweet tea! Does that matter? And they were there too... So I'm gonna go with it's ok... ;)

Chain reactions?
I've noticed something recently. Fitness seems to set off a chain reaction among people. A chain reaction of inspiration... ;)
Here's what I mean: One person in a little friend group gets serious, like actually stopping the talking and making actual changes, and seeing actual results, and suddenly others in te group start talking about it, and consider the same changes.
Since I started crossfit in April, not only does my blog get updates, but two of my closest friends get almost daily "I'm dieing" texts and workout selfies, which are almost always followed with "just did a video- I gotta be skinny just like you" messages. Which I love, now, if only I could get them to crossfit... :)
I've noticed this not only with my close friends, but other people as well. At work, this past year was a year of fitness among some teachers. We all watched as Deborah, (who I credit with part of my inspiration) shrunk before our eyes. She, with her inspiration pal Charity (and several others I'm sure!) set up gym routines, food things etc... (I'm sure she can fill you in on all the details... Maybe I'll try to convince her to do a guest blog or something...) Her changes are a big part of my inspiration. We have even gotten tentative plans to do some workout classes with Charity and Vachon over the the summer, which should be kinda exciting!
Another at work, Robinette (the sorta inspiration behind this post) has left behind what seems like over half of himself on his journey, (maybe another good one for a thought or two!) this morning his Facebook featured an update about his summer so far, and all his goals he is meeting and exceeding, and the comments flowed in, including around 30 messages of support, and 2-3 messages recognizing that his success, has inspired their journeys.
If I could count how many times I've heard something along the lines "now I'm gonna have to start working, can't let you be the only one improving!" I've even kinda convinced Vachon to attempt crossfit. :)
So I guess, basically, when people see others changing themselves with hard work and determination, it shows them that they are capable too.

Somedays...
I feel like the WOD will end in my death. Today was one of those... But hey, I had a visitor waiting in the car for me! Even if he wasn't interested at all in taking a selfie!
Also, Fridays WOD:
I just did 30 of each, and little butt kicks instead of DUs... But I followed it with this,
And I had a moment of pure insanity, cause by the time I got to the pool, I was no longer hot and sweaty, so I decided to do this poolside : http://www.fitsugar.com/10-Minute-Floor-Workout-Video-34287067 which was intense, and just enough to make that pool feel even more amazing.

What?!
Ok, so my third attempt to this post today. In short I've learned three things today: 1. My phone/blogging app is malfunctioning 2. When your phone/blogging app fails to actually post a post, it doesn't save it either. 3. I should never delete text that I typed in word, before double checking that I have actually "copied" it into the blog program (or maybe I should just cut the middle man and type on the blogging page?)
Either way, about a week and a half of blogs are gone, never having been actually posted to begin with and all the recapping I did of those posts, also gone. So we will leave it with, I did crossfit, usually it's hard, but always rewarding. (And swimming after doing cf? Wonderful!) Oh, and that heartfelt post I did about my body image and the effects it has last Monday? I will probably redo that one later... When I have the energy for self evaluation. I will share this:
My somewhat sporadic record of weighing myself... I only do it when at a friends house, who has a nifty digital scale, and only when I remember to actually do it... And I'm gonna guess that something was weird about that may 31st one... Which is what lead to me getting back on there yesterday... And she later confirmed that it sometimes does wonky things when moved around...
Anyways, my original reason for logging on... This week's WODs. Monday I skipped, to spend the day with my baby sister who surprised us with a weekend visit from Tennessee! Tuesday, 150 wall balls. Rx:14lb ball. My WOD: 100 wall balls with 14lbs, and 50 with 8lbs... Finished in somewhere around 16 minutes... I think. Yesterday? Skipped again, mainly because my tennis shoes were sitting at my parents house in griffin, and by the time I got them again, I had missed the last class of the day. :(

A WEEK?!?
So, I just realized that I haven't posted in a whole week! Yikes. Pretty sure my usual blogging time has been taken over by home work time, but hey, as of Friday SCHOOL IS OUT FOR THE SUMMER! So maybe I can fit in some writing and get homework done...
Anyways, I discovered last Thursday that I'm not great with maximum effort stuff... The same thing that happens when I run happened with those, I got a little tired and just stopped. I like having a number to reach, a goal to be attained, not having specific number completely threw me off. I left Thursday feeling not at all accomplished. And determined to figure out a solution for it... Still haven't really figured out a strategy to help with that... Any ideas?
Then Friday, no crossfit for me, instead I hung out with these awesome kiddos so there momma could get some stuff done:
And that was completely worth missing out on one day, cause you know, hugs and kisses from my nieces and nephew make my heart happy. Very happy.
And that brings me to this week so far... It's been kinda killer, but also great.
Monday's WOD:
three rounds:
400m run
50 DUs
10 burpee squat clean thrusters
My Mod: run 400 on first round, row 500 remaining rounds, and singles not doubles *first WOD with no adjustments for my wrist! and the burpees were kinda killer on it, but just cause it hadn't been doing anything i think... and since i haven't had any pain since, I'm pretty sure I'm done healing and wearing that brace...*
and may I just say that me and jump ropes have a not so great relationship with each other... but I refused to give up on them, cause you know, if I don't keep trying, I'm never gonna figure it out...and thanks to those Single jump ropes, the workout took me about 47 minutes... I don't know the exact time, cause my workout went into the next classes, and the clock was reset... but I finished. which is more then I can say if I had not started. :)
also, my phone died before I even got to the gym, so no workout selfies for Monday...
And Tuesday... not the greatest day at work, I left feeling very defeated, unheard and angry, which apparently I channel well into a workout.
Tuesday's WOD:
My little white board:
and obviously I didnt do Handstand Pushups, cause, yea, thats just not happening yet... but yea... I'm pretty sure there were a few times I lost count, but that is gonna have to just be ok. :)
Which leaves us with Wednesday... and may I just say that I began my day with no gym bag packed, cause I just knew, that after going on a field trip with my class to a dairy farm, there would be no energy left for crossfit. But somewhere around 3:30, in the middle of dismissal i decided, you know what? I'm gonna do this, so I left work a tad early and went and got my gym cloths before heading to the gym... and may I just say that I am exhausted... in fact I may have fallen asleep somewhere around typing about Tuesday...
check out those blisters forming on my hands...

Exhaustion
So, upon arriving home last night at 8, I promptly fell asleep. Without an alarm, bath, or school work finished... After waking up this morning 5 minutes before I needed to be leaving to get to work on time, I realized that my house has not actually been cleaned in about 2 weeks...
I am still at the point where crossfit exhausts me, and I've been promised that once my body acclimates I will be energized... Not sure I'm believing it...
Anyways, crossfit this week. One word, three syallables, sore melanie. Tabata. Forever minutes long of 20 seconds of work, 10 seconds of rest, 20 seconds of work, 10 seconds of rest, etc... Until your told your done... I'm sure if I tried hard enough, I could tell you the exact number of minutes te workout lasted, but all I really wanna do right now is sleep... So I doubt that will happen for you.
Monday:

Followed by this on Tuesday:
Tuesday I went to the noon class, then went back to work... That was fun...
And this morning I decided that I would skip the 4:15 class, go clean my house, knock out my school work and join the 7pm class... I may have looked at the clock and realized it was 7:30... Oops...

Shame and guilt
Ok, so this post has almost nothing to do with crossfit... Maybe I'll tell you about my lunch with momma to redeem it...
Today is Mother's Day, which I love. It's great to be able to focus attention on my momma and thank her for all her undieing love and unconditional sacrifices she has made over the years. However, I really get frustrated with the number of times I was made to feel like less then qualified to celebrate my mom, because I am not a mom. I promise you, I understand exactly how much my mother has done for me, and how much my mom loves me. I actually had this conversation at the dollar store this morning:
Cashier: "you must not be a mom yourself, you wouldn't forget to get a present if you knew exactly what it is like to be a mom."
Me: "Actually my mom's gift is sitting in the car, all this is for my secret sister at church, I forgot to get the wrapping for it and saw the candle and wanted to add it to the gift." (And she didn't need to know that moms gift was all of us paying for lunch and pedicures.. We had a plan!)
And there are countless Facebook statuses that make the impression that being a mom, is the only way to understand your mom. Or that make feel a moment of guilt that I haven't had a child yet at 26.
I understand completely the idea that becoming a mother brings a whole new prepective to the holiday that is Mother's Day, but to suggest that I have no idea of my mothers love for me, simply because I have not felt that love towards a child is ridiculous. And maybe I'm just sensitive to the subjects of moms, and that is gonna happen when you are watching your mom slowly fade from you.
I love my momma, so much it hurts sometimes, and no, I don't have first hand knowledge of what it is like to e a mom (cause dogs don't count, right?) but I have 26 years of first hand experience witnessing exactly what a mom should be. Even as her words and brain fail her, my Momma's love for us shines through everything she does, from pulling my legs into her lap and rubbing the scar on my ankle to make sure it doesn't hurt, to sitting with my older sister when bronchitis is keeping her up at 3am, to asking about her baby every few minutes because she knows today was a big day for her (even if she can't remember what is big about it) my moms love is unfailing.
So please, hug your Momma's, let them know you love and appreciate them, even tell them your children bring a new light to y'all's relationship, but please, stop telling me I can't understand my Momma's love because I'm not a Mom!
